    • 1). Mark one 24-square-inch piece of the 3/4-inch thick plywood 16 inches up from the bottom left-hand corner. Starting at the mark, draw a 4-inch horizontal line from left to right.

    • 2). Mark the other side of the wood 12 inches up, starting at the bottom right-hand corner. Starting at the 12-inch mark, draw a 2-inch horizontal line from left to right. The plywood should now have a small horizontal line on each side, but at different heights.

The drawing should now resemble a "v-shape."pencil draw graph image by Anatoly Tiplyashin from Fotolia.com

Draw an angled line, 24 inches long, starting at the end of the 4 inch mark (16 inches up and 4 inches in from the left-hand side of the piece). Draw a second angled line, 6 inches long, starting at the end of the 2-inch mark (12 inches up and 2 inches in from the right hand side). Angle both lines toward the bottom of the plywood so they meet at a single point, forming a "v-shape."

Cut out all the lines with a circular saw.

    • 5). Lay the cutout on top of another 24-square-inch piece of 3/4-inch plywood. Use the first cutout as a template. Trace out the first piece onto the second piece. Cut out the second piece with a circular saw. These will make up the sides of the amp stand.

    • 6). Cut out a 12-by-24-inch rectangular piece of wood from the 24-by-36-inch piece of plywood; this will be the back of the stand.

    • 7). Cut out a 16-by-24-inch piece from the same piece of plywood; this will be the front of the stand.

    • 8). Set the 12-inch-tall by 3/4-inch-deep side of the back onto the 12-inch side of one side so the corners match up in a 90 degree angle. Trace the outline of the back onto the side. Separate the pieces. The side should now have a 12-inch by 3/4-inch tracing on the corner.

Drill a 3/16-inch pilot hole every 3 inches in the center of the tracing from top to bottom. Using the tracing, match the corners back up in a 90-degree angle.

Screw a 3/16-inch screw through each pilot hole and into the back. This will connect the back and side corners in a 90-degree angle.

The amplifier stand should resemble a four sided box with two "v-shaped" sides, but no top or bottom.Open box image by MAXFX from Fotolia.com

Connect the front of the box and the other side in the same manner: Trace the corners, drill pilot holes and screw the pieces together. The stand should now resemble a four-sided box with no top or bottom.

Mark points on the last of the 24-square-inch plywood, 3/8 of an inch in from the sides every 3 inches. Drill 3/16 inch pilot holes through each point.

    • 13

Set the bottom onto the flat end of the amp stand (the end opposite the v-shape). Drill 3/16-inch diameter, 1-inch screws through the pilot holes into the sides, front and back of the amp stand.

Slide your amplifier onto the top of the stand. The amp will be angled upward and allow you to project the sound.
