One of the best ways to help you stay young feeling longer is to make sure that you include a healthy diet in your life.
By including a healthy diet you are going to help extend your lifespan a lot further than if you don't eat healthy foods.
If you start making weekly menu plans it will make it a lot easier on you when it comes to meal decisions and when you go shopping for your food.
Make sure to include a lot of nutritious varieties of foods that are low calorie and low fats.
You should pick the foods that are lower in cholesterol and stay away from those foods that have high concentrations of saturated fats and avoid those with trans fats altogether.
This means you should probably stay away from processed foods like cookies and cakes you buy in the store as examples.
Instead make sure that you plan your menu to contain a lot of proteins, vegetables along with some whole grains.
You should make sure that your breakfast plans should have at least one serving of whole grains, fruit as well as a dairy item.
For instance a small bran muffin, a banana and a cup of yogurt will satisfy this breakfast need.
When you are planning for your lunch menu remember to try and include one or two servings of a protein and vegetable as well as some whole grain, some fruit and some dairy.
Good choices for this would be skinless chicken breast, a small salad with cucumbers and tomatoes, a roll that is made from whole wheat and eight ounces of milk and a piece of fruit.
You should include some pasta or rice to go with your lean meats or fish when you are planning your dinner menu.
Make sure to also include some vegetables to help complete the meal.
Broccoli or sweet potatoes are a great choice.
Green vegetables are always good ones to add to your diet.
When planning for desserts you should always make sure that you include a lot of different kinds of fresh fruits and you can mix them with some yogurt to make a fruit salad.
You can make this into a big batch so that you can have several servings of it throughout the week.
Make sure that you add plenty of water to your diet and drink it often throughout the day.
Also make sure that you drink juice and small glasses of milk during the day and not just at your planned meal times.
As we age, we actually begin to lose the ability to sense how thirsty we really are so we need to make it a conscious effort to keep ourselves hydrated.
