Blondin as an Ape

106 12
Blondin spent the summer of 1859 walking the tightrope high above the Niagara River. And the crowds remained fascinated as he kept adding new wrinkles to his performances.

At times Blondin walked the tightrope pushing a wheelbarrow, and other times he performed high above the river dressed in an ape costume. In this illustration he is depicted doing both, pushing a wheelbarrow while costumed as an ape.
