Curing Porn Addiction - Overcoming the 3 Major Fears

When it comes to stopping or curing porn addiction many will tend to hesitate even thinking about overcoming the condition as they tend to immediately encounter three major fears that can stop them dead in their tracks.
But much like any problem, there is a solution, and in this case that will be through better understanding.
So what are the three major fears and how do you overcome them?
  • Fear of risk: Many tend to fear taking a risk not because it is scary but because there are so many unanswerable questions regarding what will/can happen next.
The absence of solid facts will trick your mind into jumping to conclusions thereby blowing things out of proportion.
Without the proper knowledge, your rationalization will lack substance thus making you think that you will be risking a lot more than just the habit itself.
Again, this is merely a trick your mind is playing in order to prevent change.
  • Fear of failing: The fear of failure is probably one of the biggest hurdles there is for those who are attempting to get rid of their addiction.
Fearing that you might fail again, or for the first time can deal a great blow to your self-esteem, making you hesitant to rise back up and try again.
Here's one thing to remember though; failure will be a part of your recovery process.
The bigger mistake in this case would be to start out thinking that you will immediately succeed.
Make success your goal but not everything in between.
Accept failure, learn, stand up, and move on.
  • Fear of succeeding: Why would anyone fear success you may ask? Simple - because success will eventually mean change, and change means going out of your comfort zone.
This will be a battle of will as your mind is generally going to detest change.
This is the reason why your resolve must be strong enough to resist anything that your mind says later on.
It is not easy to change what you have grown accustomed to, that's a fact, but it is not impossible either.
With patience, resolve, understanding and support on your side, you will be able to successfully shed your fears and move on with the process of recovery.
Fear will be a normal element that you will encounter, but do not let it break you down or change what you have already set out to do.
Curing porn addiction will be just like curing any addiction that plague mankind.
The process will be slow, challenging and even frustrating at times, but as long as you understand and accept all of the trials and tribulations that will be coming your way, guaranteed, you'll be coming out the other end a better individual.
