Awarded with a "Chrysos Skoufos" for 2012, Matsuhisa Mykonos was amongst the top 13 restaurants awarded in the country. Organized by the two magazines, "Athinorama" and "Alpha Guide", the awards which are celebrating 19 years in the running, are under the auspices of the Greek Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the City of Athens, celebrates 19 years.

The actual aim of the awards is to create awareness in restaurateurs in the country with a special emphasis this year on innovative Greek cuisine highlighting the use of local high quality Greek products. Restaurants which receive the award must consistently serve gourmet innovative cuisine. Judges for the awards particularly loved dishes such as the scallops tiradito, the toban beef with anticuchos sauce, the tomato consomme and the sweet capuccino with Suntory whisky.
