How to Light the Pilot Light on a Ventless Gas Fireplace
- 1). Open the red or blue valve connecting your gas supply to the fireplace. Twist the valve until it is parallel to the gas line to fully open the connection.
- 2). Push the ignitor button, which is a small black or red button typically located near the on/off switch. You should see the ignitor attached to the pilot light emit a spark. If it does not, you need to replace the ignitor.
- 3). Find the control valve with the words "on," "off" and "pilot" written on it. Twist the valve to select the "pilot" option. Some valves are configured so that the pilot option should be positioned at the top, and others are configured so that the pilot option should be at the bottom. Hold the valve in place.
- 4). Press the ignitor switch to start the pilot light. You may need to press it several times before the pilot light starts. After the pilot light is on, wait for half a minute and then rotate the control valve to select the "on" option.
- 5). Press the on/off switch to turn the fireplace on.
