Whether it's for an anniversary, Christmas, or birthday, people especially enjoy gifts that come from the heart. Extravagant doesn't necessarily mean expensive. Often the most elaborate gift is one that requires more thought and time, rather than money. Finding the right gift for your boyfriend can be difficult. Regardless of whether you're able to spend a lot of money or you're on a tight budget, it's the thought and your attention to details that will be appreciated.

    Spend Quality Time Together

    • You don't have to spend a lot of money to get away; you can do so right near or even in your hometown. Book an overnight stay at a luxury hotel nearby and simply relax. Indulge in room service, spa treatments or a nice dinner at the lobby.

    Appeal to His Interests

    • Whatever your boyfriend is into, gift him with that. If he's a sports fanatic, buy him a pair of baseball tickets. If he's into a particular band, attend a concert together. Showing him that you enjoy his interests as well will really make his day.

    Learn Something Together

    • Find something you both enjoy and/or have always wanted to learn, and purchase a lesson for the two of you. If he's a foodie, buy a set of cooking lesson from your favorite restaurants. Many restaurants offer cooking lessons, lunch with the meal you just prepared and a take-home recipe. You may also take up a wine and/or beer tasting class. Some breweries offer tastings and you can even bottle your own creation. If your boyfriend leads an active lifestyle, try snorkeling or sailing. Many docks will rent out boats for the day and teach you how to sale.

    Homemade Meal

    • Prepare a meal from beginning to end and clean up afterward. Even if you're not the most confident in the kitchen, you can still make the delicious meals with simple recipes from your friends and/or online. Something simple like a chopped salad with cherry tomatoes, spaghetti with meatballs, and ice cream and baked cookies can go a long way. You can even use prepackaged salad dressing and marinara sauce -- it's the thought that counts. You can dress up the entire meal with a nice table spread of fresh flowers, patterned napkins or candles.
