It's a DIY world now. And it's a digital world too. Thanks for that, but never for a second pretend that you can play from your iPod at the wedding. It's probably going to be a huge disaster. The fact is that, there is really no replacement for live bands in Metro Detroit in the area. Wedding is a special day for all of us. Perhaps, it's the most special day in your life. There simply cannot be anything more celebratory or ceremonious than live music. You'll know, if you have been to a wedding with a live band. 

It's definitely much more elegant to have a live band playing at the wedding. Also remember, real people can always make those adjustments, when the flower girl gets distracted and messes up her timing, and can add that "grand pause" when its announced – "please rise" just before you make the journey down the aisle. You'll agree that it will look much better than an iPod playing the music. In fact, nothing can look more unromantic than an iPod playing music at the wedding. Avoid this by all means. 

And here's one more reason to select from the many live bands in Metro Detroit. 

Let's assume that you are having a theme wedding, perhaps one in the barn. Really good Detroit wedding bands, such as Fast Forward Entertainment, will always know the kind of music that will go well with the setting. The music they play should go well with the rustic setting. It could be any theme really – a beach wedding, flower wedding, or something else. Knowledgeable and experienced musicians should be able to pick just the right music for the occasion and setting. This is the least you can expect.

 And of course, real people, real musicians, who can make eye-contact with your guests is always going to be something special. You can be sure that they are going to respond to it, when some of your guests begin to sing with the songs being played, or begin to dance on the floor. Communication is often the key that can make or break the event. 

Good live bands in Metro Detroit should be able to play music from different genres, everything from classic rock, indie rock, soul, Motown, folk, ballads, country, jazz, and perhaps even hip-hop. It's entirely possible that the bride and groom like different kinds of music. So the band could play what they both prefer. It could also respond to guest requests. But having said this, it's advisable not to include too many genres of music in your wedding party. 

The right band should be able to play a lot of songs too. Any band with a sizeable repertoire should play enough songs. But you should always ask the exact songs they can play.
