- 1). Check to see if the SIM card in your Motorola phone needs to be unlocked. To do this, use a SIM card from a different network and insert it in your phone. If your phone is locked it will display a message asking for a "Subsidy Password."
- 2). Contact a SIM card unlocking service to pay for an unlock code. Insert the SIM card you want to use and turn on your phone.
- 3). Look for the words "Enter Subsidy Code." Enter the unlock code provided by the unlocking service.
- 4). Should the SIM not unlock, follow specific directions provided by the unlocking service. This should enable you to use your new SIM.
