- 1). Click the "Start" button on your Windows computer.
- 2). Select the "Control Panel" and double-click the "Programs and Features" icon. Windows XP users click the "Add/Remove Programs" icon instead.
- 3). Locate and highlight the "Java 1.6.4" program entry from the list.
- 4). Right-click the highlighted entry, and select "Uninstall" from the submenu. You will need to have administrator access or grant administrative rights to remove the Java software. The uninstall process may take several minutes and will return you to the Programs and Features window once complete.
