    • If Utah isn't on your list of vacation destinations, maybe it should be. Visit Utah in the wintertime, when there are plenty of fun activities you can try out. Utah offers winter activities that can be enjoyed by practically all ages. But pack your warm clothes, because winters there can be chilly. Depending on where you are in Utah, winter temperatures can vary between about 11 degrees and 50 degrees Fahrenheit.

    Snowshoeing

    • Try snowshoeing across Utah's wintry landscape. Experienced snowshoe enthusiasts may bring their own snowshoes, but this activity is possible for amateurs as well. Rent snowshoes from different providers all over the state. Try snowshoeing at Bryce Canyon National Park.

    Tubing

    • Tubing is a fun activity for the whole family. Snow tubing is when you ride an inner tube down a snowy slope. Rent a tube from a rental service and slide down snowy hills all day long. This is a great activity for children because as long as you choose a small hill, there is a low likelihood that they can be injured. Utah's Gorzoga Tubing Park is near Park City and has eight lanes for tubing.

    Train

    • Make reservations for a train ride through Utah's winter wilderness. You can view the snowy landscape from the warm interior of the train. The Heber Valley Railroad goes through the Heber Valley every weekend from November through March. Utah's Heber Valley is located between the Wasatch and Uinta mountain ranges.

    Skiing

    • Utah offers plenty of spots for great skiing. As the site of the 2002 Winter Olympics, Park City's Olympic Sports Park boasts challenging ski runs. You can take ski jumping lessons at the park if you want to try something new. The Olympic Sports Park also has four ski jumps and a winter freestyle aerial jump that were used in the Olympics.

    Sleigh Ride

    • Enjoy a winter sleigh ride through the snowy Utah landscape with your friends and family. Sleigh rides can be long or short and some even include a meal. Utah's Hardware Ranch Elk Refuge offers sleigh rides where you can see a herd of more than 600 elk. They also do dinner and moonlight sleigh rides over the weekend.
