Which Of These Mistakes Are You Making With Your Debt?
Most people are doing one of the following things when it comes to their debt.
The reality is, if you're doing one of the following, there is a better way for you to handle your debt, and it doesn't necessarily mean joining a debt program.
The #1 problem most face, is that they don't know what to do to get out faster.
Because of that, they tend to do nothing, which is the WORST thing you could possibly do.
#1Do you just pay the minimums? Welcome to a life of working to pay a credit card.
Your balances will never go anywhere.
This is by design, you are paying credit cards off slowly, which keeps you in debt the longest, and makes your creditors the most money.
2#Do you constantly transfer balances? This is normally the beginning of the end.
As you scramble to get your minimums monthly lowered, the credit card shuffle begins.
This normally stalls the inevitable for about 6 months to a year, depending how long your introductory rates will last.
#3Carry a balance from month-to-month.
Plain and simple, if you carry a balance you lose.
The goal is to get to the point where you have no balances, and can pay off your balance monthly.
#4Have you used one card to pay another? The beginning of the end, if you've done this recently.
Most people do this only if they are overextended, and are still clutching on to the idea that they are "current".
If you have to pay one credit card with another, you are not current, and you need help as soon as possible.
#5Have you consolidated your cards with your home or a HELOC? If you've already done it, live and learn.
If not...
Don't do it.
It's never smart to secure debt that is currently unsecured.
#6Pay late or not at all.
If you' do this, you know you need help, so stop procrastinating.
You probably don't know what to do, or you would have done it already.
There are ways for you to get out, and you need help.
You will be surprised at how cheap you can get out of debt, but know this...
the longer you wait the worse off you are.
