Sometimes when you find something rare or something that you have been looking for on eBay, you don't want to lose to another bidder.
In this guide, I am going to show you a few tips on how to increase your probability on getting what you want on eBay.
Last second bid.
This is one of the famous and effective ways to win an eBay auction, bid at the last second before the auction ends.
In other words, we call it "sniping".
You have to be patience and wait till the last second, then place in your maximum bid.
Before you "snipe", spend some time doing some serious research about the product that you are going bid: normal retail value, condition, how much is the shipping and handling and so forth.
Make sure you don't over paid by placing a high bid in the last second.
Place your maximum bid right at the beginning.
Make your bid the maximum amount the item is worth to you.
The higher your bid, the higher your chance on winning the item.
Don't worry about "sniper" because if your bid is high enough, you still outbid the "sniper".
No matter how high your maximum bid, eBay's proxy bidding system will ensures that your bid is only as high as it needs to be to beat the second highest bidder.
Bid in summer months.
According to statistics, summer months are the off season or slowest period on eBay.
Very few bidders bidding, that means this is good new to you because there is a high possibility that you will get what you want at a low price.
Off season is a very good time to pick up some real bargains.
Look for auctions with poor pictures or descriptions.
Most of the time auctions with good pictures and descriptions will close at a higher bid.
But it doesn't mean that poor pictures and description equals to poor product quality.
You will be surprise sometimes because you find some gems hiding in this kind of auctions.
Look for bargains that close in midnight.
Sometimes some eBay sellers do not time their auction properly, and it may end at the middle of the night.
Most of the bidders and "snipers" are sleeping in this moment.
You have less competition, less competition equals to low price.
If you are willing to set your alarm clock and wake up during these hours, you will grab some bargains.
