- One of the first things to check if your agitator doesn't spin is if the washing machine is getting power. Check the main circuit breaker to see if the switch for the circuit has been tripped and, if so, flip it to the "on" position. Also, check that the washing machine is plugged into the power socket. If this is a GFCI socket, check to see if it has been tripped. If there is no standing water or moisture in the area, press the "Reset" button on the GFCI circuit to see if that restores power.
