So you probably heard someone talking about this 'pencil test' on TV or perhaps one of your friends told you about it.
Regardless, the pencil test is a popular game (I call it a game because there is no scientific evidence to back the test up) that already pregnant women play to help determine the sex of their unborn child.
The validity of this game is not at question here, but if you want to know a little more about the baby gender pencil test game, then read on.
The pencil test originated somewhere in Hungary and is said to be one of the most popular gender predicting games.
The idea behind the game is that not only can the pencil test predict the future sex of the unborn child, but it can also predict past births of women who are not pregnant but have had children.
Is it valid? The validity is unknown but it can be a lot of fun to do at a baby shower or at home.
If you want to do the baby gender prediction pencil test all you need are a few household items to get you started: 1 number two pencil, 1 sewing needle and some sewing thread.
Some women will argue that you need to use other objects, but these items are most commonly used and are easy to access.
Prepare your baby predicting device by putting the thread through the needle and stick the end of the needle into the eraser of the pencil.
Now you are ready to play.
Expose your pregnant belly and have a friend assist you.
You dangle the pencil over the pregnant belly and observe the movement.
The old wives tale states that if the pencil moves in circular motions then you will have a boy and if the pencil moves in up and down motions, then you will have a girl.
Give the pencil ample time to show the true prediction as it can take several seconds to a minute to start producing noticeable results.
The baby gender pencil test is not widely accepted by a lot of people but if you are looking for something fun to play at your baby shower, then by all means, give this test a try.
There are a lot of skeptics out there but there are also a lot of women who swear that this test has proven true for all of their children.
All and all, the pencil test is just a fun gender prediction game that can be enjoyed for the pure excitement it evokes.
As for whether or not it is real, we will leave that up to you to decide.
