1). Spread newspaper out on a large flat surface. Dye white tissue paper in an artistic manner by mixing water with watercolor paint and brushing it on the tissue in free-form patterns. Or, pour the watercolor paint into a plastic spray bottle. Mist it onto the tissue paper for a pleasing effect. Use more than one color if you want. Colors in the same hue will create a subtle look. Colors that contrast will create a tie-dye effect.
2). Allow tissue to dry thoroughly.
3). Add a light application of glitter spray to the dry painted paper, if desired. Let it dry.
4). Use rubber stamps to create your own custom pattern. You might do the entire sheet with just one stamp or create a theme using two or three related stamps, such as three different leaf patterns. Consider choosing a theme that is unique to your family, the recipient or the gift that you are wrapping.
5). Apply stickers to the tissue. You can also use stickers to create a border or a medallion in the center of the paper, rather than an all-over design.
