Computer Won't Let Me Use Task Manager

    • 1). Log on to Windows with administrative privileges. Click "Start." Type "regedit" into the search field.

    • 2). Choose "regedit" from the search results found in the left pane. Navigate the folders through "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE," "Software," "Microsoft," "Windows, "Current Version" and finally "Policies."

    • 3). Click "System." Look for the value "DisableTskMgr." Double-click the value and type "0" into the "Value data" field, followed by "OK," or highlight the item and press "Del." Click "Yes" at the prompt.

    • 4). Restart your computer. Log back into Windows. You should now be able to access Task Manager.
