    • 1). Wash the algae thoroughly to ensure it is free of debris. You can do this simply with clean water -- soap isn't needed.

    • 2). Dehydrate the algae (unless you purchased it already dried) using a drying rack or a dehydrator. With sufficient sunshine, the drying rack method should take three to five days. If you use a dehydrator, it should take from 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the thickness of the plant.

    • 3). Press the algae in the oil press and collect the oil in a sealable container for storage. Discard the pressed seaweed remains.
