- 1). Press the "Ctrl," "Alt," and "Delete" keys on the keyboard at the same time. The "Task Manager" window will appear.
- 2). Click the "Applications" tab. Click the "Backup Utility" item in the list of programs and click the "End Task" button. If a window appears and displays a notification that the "Program is not responding," click the "End Now" button.
- 3). Click the "Processes" tab if the backup program fails to shut down. Right-click the "ntbackup.exe" process and click "End Process" in the menu that appears.
