3 Reasons You Should Avoid Low Carb Diet

It doesn't really matter what you are trying to do in terms of losing weight and looking fitter, there are a lot of great options that you can follow which will end up helping you out and getting you in the best shape of your life that you know that you want to be in.

However, please do yourself a favor and just try to avoid any of these "low carb diets" that have seemed popular in recent times. Low carb diets are just the next fad in the long list of dieting fads, and you cannot be expected to follow these rules and actually see long term success.

1. Carbs give you a lot of necessary items in your system and your nutrition as well, but one of the most famous things that carbs do is provide you energy and fuel over the long term. In other words, while more simple sugars will break down quickly and give you short term energy, carbs will end up staying in your system longer and providing you with the fuel that is necessary to do things a few hours down the line.

So, if you eliminate carbs, you will definitely see fatigue and overall tiredness set in a lot more frequently during your day. Do you really think you will have the energy to get through your work day let alone accomplish a workout without carbs?

2. Decreasing your carbs has been linked through different chemicals and studies to actually decrease the amount of muscle that your body has. If you drop muscle then your metabolism will slow, you will not be able to work out as hard, and overall you will be cutting weight, but not the "bad" kind so your flab could actually become flabbier. It's not a great idea because not all mass was created equal.

3. Many people speak about how much weight they actually lose right off the bat, but a lot of the weight that is initially lost when being on a low carb diet is water weight. This happens because you are actually becoming extremely dehydrated as you continue to shed your carbs and the chemicals that accompany carbs out of your body and system.

So, as you shed off your water weight then you will definitely lose a few pounds in the first couple of days, but this is by no means healthy, nor is it sustainable over the long term. Furthermore, this is actually going to be something that will start to come back to haunt you as you will end up feeling dizzy, tired, and overall dehydrated if you don't have enough water in your system.

Overall, diets are not something I can actually recommend because they try to get you to a goal very quickly and cannot be considered safe or even helpful. If you don't make a lifestyle adjustment, then you will just be back in the same exact spot that you were before when you get off the diet, even if you do manage to reach your short term goals.

What is far better for you is to actually make a lifestyle change, become more knowledgeable about your own personal health, and then just continue to make good decisions based upon best practices for your diet and exercise.
