Win98 Installation
- You must first partition the blank hard drive by putting the start-up disk in the floppy drive. After restarting the computer, select "start computer without CD-ROM support," and at the command prompt type "fdisk" and hit Enter. Select the option to "create primary DOS partition."
- After the partition completes, restart the computer and select the "start computer without CD-ROM support" option. At the command prompt type "format c:" and hit Enter. This will format the hard drive to prepare for the Windows 98 installation.
- Restart the computer after format is complete, and that could take a while. Select the "start computer with CD-ROM support" option, hit Enter and then insert the Windows 98 installation CD-ROM. At the command prompt type "x:setup," where "x" is your CD-ROM drive letter. Proceed with installation.
