Talent and Hard Work Are Needed
There are very few examples of anyone becoming a renowned thespian if they cannot perform better than the next person.
Yes you may blag your way to an audition, and you might even get a part, but if you cannot act, it will only be the one.
When Daniel Radcliffe was cast as Harry Potter all those years ago, he had already been through an exhaustive auditioning process, until, not only the Director, but the producers and others believed he was the best person for the job.
Even then had he not proven his ability as they were making the first movie, you can be absolutely sure he would have been unceremoniously dispensed with and replaced with someone else.
Of course history now shows that not only was he a perfect choice for that part but he has gone on to impress West End and Broadway audiences in Equus, and the movie the Woman in Black further cemented his credentials.
The same can be said about all the other greats of the day, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Angelina and their peers.
You have actors who make very few films, such as Daniel Day Lewis, but each one is unsurpassable, and then you have the jobbing actors who can make dozens, like Michael Cain, yet nobody would criticise his work.
You should consider taking elocution lessons or drama classes if you believe you have what it takes, and if you are of an age you can do a drama course at your local college.
Join a local amateur dramatic society, they are always looking for members.
This will be a good way of learning your craft, and also how to take and understand direction.
If you trawl the internet you will find any number of casting calls for actors and actresses.
They will probably not be for the leading roles, but remember you have to start somewhere.
If you can land yourself a small speaking part, and you deliver your lines well, then you are on your way.
It is a sad fact that for every highly paid, famous actor there is probably at least a thousand hard working wannabes who hope their day will come.
The harsh reality is that without talent you really have no chance of reaching the very top, but you can make a good living by setting your sights a little lower.
