Why Don't All of My Blogs Post on Tumblr?
- First of all check your Tumblr blog is public and not private. Log into the Tumblr Dashboard at tumblr.com, select the name of the blog in question from the list at the top of the screen, and click the "Settings" link on the right. The password option is the last one in the list. If it's enabled, it means your blog cannot be viewed by others without the relevant password. Untick the box labelled "Password protect this blog" and click "Save preferences" to make your blog public.
- Another reason why some or all of your blog posts may not be showing onscreen is that you have queued up posts or created draft copies rather than publishing them immediately. The options to publish immediately, add a post to the queue or save it as a draft are available from the drop-down menu on the right every time you create a new post. As before, click the relevant blog name at the top of the Tumblr Dashboard, then select "Drafts" or "Queue" to see any messages contained there. Any posts you find can be made public immediately by clicking the relevant "Publish" button.
- On occasion the Tumblr platform suffers from outages and may not be displaying your blog or your posts correctly. Check the Tumblr Twitter feed at twitter.com/tumblr for any reports of problems with the service. Status information may also be posted at the official staff Tumblr blog at staff.tumblr.com. You can also use a third-party monitoring tool such as the online service at isup.me, downrightnow.com or downornot.com to check Tumblr's current status.
- In rare instances there may be a problem with the theme you have installed; it might be preventing your blog or your posts from displaying correctly. Switch to a different theme from the gallery at tumblr.com/themes to see if this fixes the issue. If the problem is resolved and you want to return to your original theme, contact the theme author (listed on the theme page) for help in troubleshooting the problems you are experiencing.
