Novelty Hotels
- If you're tired of the same old amenities, choose a novelty hotel.hotel image by muro from Fotolia.com
Vacationers have many options in accommodations. If you like to be pampered, you can stay in a resort with room service, or a spa with fine dining. If you enjoy the outdoors, you can camp or travel in an RV. If you have kids, you might stay at one of the many Disney hotels and resorts. But for the more adventurous type, there are also novelty hotels, places with unique and creative twists far beyond offering their guests babysitting services and a heated swimming pool. - Cedar Creek Treehouse is located close to Mount Rainier National Park in Washington state. The hotel is an actual treehouse, set in a giant cedar tree, 50 feet up in the air. Guests access the hotel area by a 80-foot suspension bridge, and the treehouse itself via a five-story staircase. On the fourth floor, an observatory enclosed in glass, allows guests to stargaze, nature watch or just relax in a hammock. The treehouse has a kitchen and 12-volt lights, which run off solar power. The Cedar Creek Treehouse is set up with skylights, futons, a dining area and a picnic table. The small kitchenette comes with free coffee and tea, spices, a gas stove, sink, dishes and an icebox. Propane for heating is provided in winter. Guests can swim and fish right off the front yard, and the Nisqually River entrance to Mount Rainier National Park is only 10 miles away by car.
