How do I Install Retractable Lighting?
- 1). Turn the breaker off for the room where you are putting the retractable light. The power should not be on when you work with electricity, or else you'll risk shock. Use a Philips or flat-head screwdriver to remove the old light.
- 2). Take the light out of the ceiling. Cut the wires with wire cutters. Clean the wires with the wire cutters; to do this, hold the wires with the wire cutters and gently pull.
- 3). Connect the wires together. The black wire goes on the black wire, the green wire goes on the green wire and the white wire goes on the white wire. Put the wire nuts on and tighten them down by turning them clockwise. For safety, tape the wire nuts with electrical tape.
- 4). Push the wires up into the electrical box in the ceiling. Connect the new retractable light to the ceiling using a flat-head or Philips screwdriver.
- 5). Turn the breaker back on. Turn the switch on and now you have a new retractable light.
