- 1). Start with one sheet of paper, color side up. Fold the paper in half horizontally. Crease and unfold.
- 2). Fold the bottom edge of the paper up, so that it lies along the center crease. Fold the top edge down so that it lies along the center crease.
- 3). Unfold all of the folds. Turn the paper over.
- 4). Fold the paper in half diagonally. Crease and unfold. Fold the paper in half diagonally in the opposite direction. Crease and unfold.
- 5). Fold the right edge of the paper in until it meets the place where the horizontal quarter creases and the diagonal creases meet. Fold the left edge in so that it touches the place where the horizontal quarter creases and the diagonal creases meet. Crease these newest folds, then unfold.
- 6). Turn the paper over and collapse the paper along the creases. Pull the centers of the right and left edges of the paper down and in, so that they touch at the bottom of the paper. The top edge of the paper comes down to meet the bottom edge. The model is now a triangle.
- 7). Lift the very first layer of paper up, folding it along the crease that runs through this layer, so what was the bottom edge touches the top point of the model. Hold the bottom layer to keep it from moving.
- 8). Hold the layers still while you squash the right side of the paper flat. Do this by bringing the bottom corner, which is sticking up into the air, down, to touch the center of the bottom edge of the model. Then, squash the left side flat. The front of the model is now the shape of a house.
- 9). Flip the paper over. Repeat steps 7 and 8 on the other side.

Rotate the model so that the main point faces down. - 11
Grasp the top layer of paper at the upper left edge of the model. Note the crease that occurs just below the upper edge of the paper. Pull the top layer of paper down, allowing it to fold over on itself at this crease. Pulling this layer down creates a raised triangle at the left side of the layer. Flatten this triangle. Repeat this step on the right side. - 12
Turn the model over and repeat the previous step. - 13
Unfold steps 11 and 12. Make 11 more models the same way. - 14
Open the top layer of one unit, along the vertical slit. Slide the back flaps of a second unit underneath these layer. - 15
Fold the top left flap to the right. Refold along the creases made in step 11, folding layers of the two units together. Fold the flap back to the left. - 16
Fold the top right flap to the left. Refold along the creases made in step 11. Fold the flap back to the right. - 17
Slip the front layers of the new heart shape into the back pockets of another unit, and lock them together in the same way as you locked the previous two units. - 18
Continue adding units. Lock the final unit to the first unit by curving the model. - 19
Hold the completed model in both hands. Use your thumbs to press the middle of the model down. The model will turn inward, creating different shapes. The more your press down and inward, the more shapes can be created.
