IntraLASIK
Updated June 09, 2015.
Definition: An all-laser method of performing laser eye surgery for vision correction. Traditional LASIK involves using both a laser and a steel blade. IntraLASIK only involves the use of lasers.
With IntraLASIK, the first step of the LASIK process is to use a laser instead of a blade to cut a flap in the cornea. The second part of the procedure uses an excimer laser to reshape the cornea in order to eliminate or reduce a patient's glasses prescription, as in traditional LASIK.
Many people consider the IntraLASIK method of laser vision correction to be advantageous over traditional LASIK.
Also Known As: IntraLase
Common Misspellings: IntraLasix
