How do I Compress a 27.2-mm Video for Email?
- 1). Compress the video using the Mac video-editor, iMovie. iMovie comes preinstalled on some Mac systems and can be installed on most Mac systems. To compress a video using the tools provided in iMovie, open the file in iMovie and then export the file by going to "File>Export." Click "QuickTime," and use the "Compress Movie for" drop-down menu to select the "Email" option.
- 2). Use Windows' native movie editor, Windows Movie Maker, to compress the video file. Windows Movie Maker comes pre-installed on most Windows computers and can be downloaded and installed for free on any Windows computer that doesn't already have it. Once you have the video file in the Windows Movie Maker timeline, compress the video by going to "File>Save" and selecting the "Best fit to file size" option. You can enter any bitrate that you want into the box and the video compresses to that size.
- 3). Download and install the trial version of Blaze Media Pro (see Resources.) Blaze Media Pro is a total video and audio editing suite, but, like most compression programs, Blaze Media works only on Windows systems. The compression options in Blaze appear "Video Constructor" section of the Blaze Media Pro system.
