How to Take Apart a Tungsten E Palm
- 1). Remove the four screws in the corners on the back of your Tungsten E with a Phillips head screwdriver.
- 2). Pull the back cover apart from the motherboard by lifting up on the small tabs on the four sides of the device with your plastic pry tool. If you don't have a plastic pry tool, a small flat head screwdriver will work fine. Be careful as the motherboard is still connected to the back cover via the battery connector ribbon.
- 3). Disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard by gently lifting up the left side of the ribbon cable. The ribbon cable should easily unclip from the motherboard.
- 4). Remove the thin plastic housing from the top of the unit. It's not secured in place, so it should easily pop right off.
- 5). Remove the motherboard from the front housing.
- 6). Remove the LCD screen from the front housing. At this point your Tungsten E is completely disassembled. To reassemble your Tungsten E, put it back together by reversing the steps you followed to take it apart.
