How to Get Red ChapStick Off a Couch
- 1). Scrape the ChapStick substance off the couch upholstery with the dull side of a table knife. Wipe the lip balm onto a paper towel, and discard it.
- 2). Cover the red ChapStick residue on your couch with baking soda to absorb the oil. Leave the baking soda on the upholstery for one hour.
- 3). Vacuum the baking soda off the couch. If any greasy or waxy residue remains, repeat Steps 2 and 3 to remove it.
- 4). Dampen a clean cloth with dry cleaning solvent, and dab at the upholstery with the dry cleaning solvent until it's moist. Blot the surface with a dry cloth. Repeat this step until the colored portion of the red stain is gone.
- 5). Press a dry cloth into the upholstery to remove any further moisture. Allow your couch to air-dry.
