    • 1). Obtain the IP address of the remote computer by visiting the site linked below. Write down this number, as you will need it to remotely disable the firewall.

    • 2). Load the Remote Desktop Client software and input the IP address you obtained during Step 1 as the address of the remote computer.

    • 3). Log in to the computer with a username and password (if required).

    • 4). Click "Start" and "Run," type in "firewall.cpl" and press "Enter."

    • 5). Click the box next to the "Off" option to disable the firewall.
