- 1). Mix equal parts of baking soda and table salt together to make your natural flea remedy
- 2). Sprinkle over the carpets or rugs and work the mixture throughout the carpet by walking around on it. The salt will split open the eggs and the baking soda will suffocate the fleas.
- 3). Let the flea treatment stay in the carpet for about 3 hours and vacuum. You will need to go over the area more then once to remove the baking soda, salt and fleas.
- 4). Immediately dump the vacuum bag and take out of your home. Do not give any of the fleas a chance to escape if they were not already dead when vacuumed!
- 5). Repeat this process once a week for three weeks to make sure any newly hatched fleas are taken care of.
