How to Install a Recessed Tie Down Bracket
- 1). Remove the plastic caps that cover your truck bed's stake pockets if the truck is outfitted with bed rail protectors. These usually can be pushed in until the tab that holds them in place break off, providing access to the stake pocket.
- 2). Slip a tie down bracket into each of the stake pockets of your pickup truck. Some trucks incorporate four pockets, while other trucks, usually long bed pickups, use six.
- 3). Tighten the pair of screws located just under the metal hoop of each of the tie down brackets until the housing for the bracket is tightly fitted against the truck bed's top rail. Once the screws are tightened in place, the installation is complete.
