How to Create Any Light Switch Cover
- 1). Draw or print any light switch cover shape on paper. You can use a silhouette from an existing image or create your own outline, specific or abstract.
- 2). Roll out polymer clay to 1/4-inch thickness with a rolling pin on a baking sheet.
- 3). Lay the paper with the drawn or printed image lightly on top of the clay and secure it with tape.
- 4). Trace the outline of the image with a pen or pencil to score the clay.
- 5). Remove the paper from the clay.
- 6). Cut out the shape marked on your clay sheet with a craft knife.
- 7). Place a standard light switch cover upside down on the clay.
- 8). Trace the holes for the light switch and screw holes.
- 9). Cut out the holes with a craft knife. Make your cuts at the outside of the score marks so the holes won't be too small.

Decorate the surface of the clay with more clay ornamentation, if desired. Add flowers, insects, animals, musical instruments or anything else to make a themed light switch cover of your choice, or make a more abstract design with "slices." Make slices by stacking thin sheets of multiple colors of clay on top of one another. Roll them up like a jelly roll and then make thin cross-wise slices, resulting in round, colorful spirals. - 11
Bake the clay for 20 minutes at 275 degrees, or as directed on the polymer clay packaging. - 12
Spray paint the baked clay in the color of your choice, or leave as --- if you used colored clay to decorate before baking.
