    • 1). Download the actions files, placing them on your desktop or in a folder that is easily accessible. You will need to access them later in the process. Quit Photoshop Elements 8 by right-clicking the icon in your dock and choosing "Quit."

    • 2). Open Finder by clicking the icon in the dock. Choose "Macintosh HD," click "Library," "Application Support" and then "Adobe." This will bring you to Adobe's library where Photoshop Elements or any other Adobe products you have installed reside.

    • 3). Click on "Photoshop Elements" and choose "8.0." Navigate to "Photo Creations" followed by "Photo Effects," and copy and paste the actions that you downloaded into this folder. You can also drag-and-drop the files into the folder if you wish.

    • 4). Press the back button on the finder twice to return to the "8.0" folder. Click on "Locale" and then "en_US." In this folder, find the file "Mediadatabase.db3" and rename it to "MediadatabaseOLD.db3." In doing this, you are forcing Photoshop Elements 8 to rebuild its database with the new actions in it.

    • 5). Restart Photoshop Elements 8 and give it a few moments to rebuild the database. Once loaded, the new actions should appear with the old actions.
