How to Transfer Addresses to Contacts in Outlook Express
- 1). Open your Outlook or other mail program. Select the "File" option from the top toolbar. In other mail programs, this command may differ slightly but can be found under the first drop-down menu at the top of the screen. Select the "Export" option and choose your "Address Book." Use the default "Address Book" if you have not named your address book.
- 2). Choose the "File Type" as a "Text File" with "Comma Separated Values." Select "Export" again. Click on "Browse" and choose your USB flash drive or external hard drive or a folder on your computer where you want to save the address file. Name the file and click "Next" or "Finish" to save your contacts in a CSV file.
- 3). Connect the flash or hard drive to the computer you want to transfer the address book to, if you are transferring contacts to Outlook Express on another computer.
- 4). Open Outlook Express and go to "File." Select "Import" and choose "Other Address Book" from the drop-down menu. Select the CSV file you saved and click "Import." Follow the onscreen instructions, then click "Next" and "Finish."
