    Origination

    • According to the University of Vermont Department of Plant and Soil Sciences, the White Cascade petunia is part of the single grandiflora group of petunias. It was developed in the early 1950s.

    Description

    • White Cascade petunia blossoms are fragrant white single flowers on a background of small oval leaves. The bloom season for White Cascade petunias is early summer through fall.

    Growth

    • White Cascade petunias grow quickly and can reach between nine and 12 inches tall. They will trail two to three feet.

    Uses

    • The trailing habit of White Cascade petunias makes them good for using in hanging baskets, window boxes and container gardens.

    Growing Conditions

    • Like all petunias, White Cascades do best in full to partial sun and loose soil. According to the University of Rhode Island Landscape Horticulture Program, an application of all-purpose fertilizer mixed with potting soil at planting time and another half-application in July will provide nutrients for White Cascades. They should be watered deeply, and the soil should be allowed to dry out between waterings.
