- 1). Insert the Ethernet cable into one of the "Out" ports on the Internet modem.
- 2). Connect the free end of the Ethernet cable into the "Cat5" connection on the adapter.
- 3). Insert a telephone cable into the telephone end of the adapter. Plug the other end of the cable into the "Internet" connection port on the Windows 98 laptop computer. The computer automatically detects an Internet connection, so you don't need to install any additional drivers or software.
- 4). Open the Internet browser on the computer to begin using the Internet.
